The agreement between you and Mentulis. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

This is the most important thing on this page, so it goes first.
Mentulis is a self-help and wellbeing app. It is not a medical device, not a diagnosis, not treatment, and not a substitute for a doctor, therapist, psychologist or any other licensed professional. The Mentulis Companion is artificial intelligence. It is not a therapist, it is not supervised by one, and it can be wrong.
The self-check questionnaires in the app (GAD-7 and PHQ-9) are widely used screening tools. A score is not a diagnosis. Only a qualified clinician can diagnose a mental health condition.
Mentulis is not an emergency service.
It does not monitor what you write, and nobody is watching for signs that you are in danger. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. The app lists crisis resources and they are free to everyone — we never put them behind a subscription.
Never delay seeking professional help, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read in Mentulis.
By creating an account or using Mentulis, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Mentulis. If you are between 16 and the age of majority where you live, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@mentulis.com if you believe someone else has accessed it.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. See Delete your account for how, and for exactly what is removed.
Mentulis is free to use. Mentulis Premium is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. Prices are shown in the app in US dollars and may vary by region and tax.
Premium is offered as monthly, three-month and yearly plans. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Payment is taken by the app store you bought through — Google for Android, Apple for iOS — not by us directly. We never see or store your card details.
To cancel:
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Deleting your Mentulis account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately using the steps above, or you may continue to be billed.
Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under their policies, not by us. If a store declines a refund you believe is fair, write to us anyway at hello@mentulis.com and we will do what we can.
If you cannot afford Premium, email us. No one is turned away from Mentulis for lack of funds.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things.
Your journal entries, mood check-ins, self-check results and everything else you record belong to you. We do not claim ownership of them, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.
Most of it never reaches us at all — your check-ins, journal and self-check results are stored on your own device. What we do hold is your account: your email, and a name and country if you chose to add them.
Conversations with the Companion are not stored, on your phone or on our servers. Each message is sent, answered and discarded. Our Privacy Policy explains all of this in detail.
The Mentulis name, logo, design and software are ours. These terms do not transfer any of that to you. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app, which ends if you stop using it or we close your account.
We work to keep Mentulis running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. Features may change, and parts of the app depend on services we do not control — the app stores, our hosting providers, and the AI model behind the Companion.
Mentulis is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Mentulis after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not remove any consumer protection rights you have where you live.
